For fans of basketball, these weeks of NBA playoff games are a wild ride, and especially so with each team’s stories going in.

Beginning with the east, the parity of these teams is high, especially when looking at a series like the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers. Though neither of these teams have won NBA championship titles before, they are both strong teams within the Eastern Conference. The Toronto Raptors are the favorite for the series because they came in the second seed spot from the East.
Also in the East is the matchup between the Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets. Though the Heat is the favorite to win the series after coming in a much higher position than the Hornets, Charlotte has become formidable after their offseason additions and, interestingly enough, their first playoff win was their first in almost 12 years.

The Cavaliers swept the Detroit Pistons, which proves why they are still one of the strongest teams in the league after facing the Golden State Warriors in the Finals last year.

Atlanta also took a series lead against the Boston Celtics in a close series, proving that the season results of an identical win% was no fluke.

Golden State Warriors, going into the playoffs as the favorites, went in with a record 73 wins in the season. They are also the defending champions after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014-2015 season. They defeated the Houston Rockets 4-1 in the first round this year, Houston performing at a lower level than they did last year, only completing the season at a .500.

There is also a tight race heating up between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Portland Trailblazers, though both entered as underdogs in a way, both teams are looking good.

The Oklahoma City Thunder also beat the fan favorite Dallas Mavericks 4-1, and will continue on to face the San Antonio Spurs in the second round, after the Spurs swept the Memphis Heat, proving their spot in the playoffs after gaining the second seed in the West.
This second round onwards will be one to behold, and the excitement built will be uncontainable.
